Cliff Mays, one of the most talented musicians I have been able to actually sit down and
work with. There are people in this world that just "have it" he is one of
them. Cliff feels his music and has a way of making others feel it as well. I
am constantly amazed at the end result of his work. Cliff strives for the best
possible take, and pushes you to do the same. I am no stranger to "Do that
over".... and "You have to have attitude Stephanie when you sing this
song, let me hear it". It is the constructive criticism that made my first
song, My Turn, what it is today. Cliff has performed
countless studio dates for everything from Movie Soundtracks "Farmer and
Chase" to artists albums and demos. He is fronting the infamous
NYC based band Great Red Shark. GRS, for short, started as an
experiment in combining Blues...Funk....Fusion... Rock and Jazz into a new sound. 10 years
later the band pushes on. GRS has become a great place for many of NYC’s great
players to cut their teeth. The band has had 30+ members over the years, and Cliff has
played every GRS gig.
Collaborating with Steve Pollak on material for the Dude's latest
album Under The Sound Umbrella, Cliff has become the touring guitarist for The
Dude Of Life.. Current collaborations with Mike Corn, on a project called
"Half Life", has brought Cliff yet again back into studio at Bear Tracks,
Suffern NY. If this isn't enough, he is working on the book to end all books for
