Mishell on stage Mishell started singing at the age of 8 with her Dad. He entertained at a nightclub on Bourbon Street in the French Quarter of LA called the Famous Door. Every now and then she would get up and sing a little Jazz with him or maybe even the Blues. We first heard the voice Friday at rehearsals, and I am sure that most were hoping not to have to contend with her. Hearing Mishell sing will leave you squirming in your seat. She has that talent that makes you work harder on your own material so you can achieve what she has.

Two contestants from different shows happened to run into each other in the lobby of the hotel before the competition commented to another on their feelings about the contest., comparing feelings of nervousness, and the amazement of the talent. One of the contestants made the comment......"I have Mishell, in my show" Take it as a compliment, they were just stating the obvious..... this woman could SING..... You would have to be focused if you had a chance of beating this one.

Mishell commented: "I have been told, shunned and laughed at all revolving around Karaoke. I quote, "A professional Musician is not a professional or cannot handle it in the industry if they have to resort to Karaoke". My response is, they cannot handle the Karaoke competition that's why they dis the Karaoke competitor. I have NEVER, gotten so much recognition for my talent and artistic creativity with ANY "band" that I have ever played with. No matter how good you are, you can't carry the whole band and your only as good as your weakest player." |

Mishell's love for singing took her all over the east
coast. At 18 she began touring with a rock band consisting of all women called
"Promise". She gained a lot of experience here and also paid some very
expensive and heavy dues. She was the opening act for groups such as, Blue
Oyster Cult, Head East, Robin Trower, Three Dog Night, Steppenwolf, and landing a gig
with The Little River Band performing for more than 10,000 people. "What a Rush!! the fire was blazing by this point." Mishell entered "The Wedding Singer" contest, with Adam Sandler. After winning in New Orleans, she flew to Atlanta, Ga. winning again Mishell then flew to Orlando, Fl. once again for the finals. Mishell discovered she was the ONLY WOMAN to make it to the finals.
