After being in the studio taping 5 shows, we all needed a
"break". The first group left for the Studio at 9a.m. on Saturday morning and
the final show was completed and the last bunch were returning to the Hotel around 3a.m.
Sunday morning. Some of us came early, others stayed after their show to support our
friends and help with last minute "How's my make-up", and "Do I look
okay?" situations. Some were there for nearly 18 hours. We would
"warm-up" and get ready to perform and then wait for another 3 hours until the
"Production Staff" fixed "something". This picture was taken AFTER we knew who was chosen to go on to Nashville. This shows that Win or Lose.... we all were proud of one another and didn't have any "grudges" against any of the contestants.

Stephanie on stage. Friday at rehearsals you could afford to "leave-out" a word or two. Saturday was the "REAL THING" no matter what, just smile and keep on singing. Stephanie didn't move 10 inches from that "X", but gave a good
performance. She learned some things about herself that weekend.

"Here's Your One Chance Fancy Don't Let Me
Down" .... as she "caught" a bit of an "attitude". A little over a year ago, Stephanie was "hiding" behind the speakers or up in the DJ Box at Karaoke so she couldn't be seen. This was her first audition, competition, and televised show. Wait until others in her hometown of VA finally get to see the person behind the voice. There was previous tapings that are currently being broadcast on various stations across the Country. But the talent that walked on that stage May 1st, was absolutely incredible. Some remarks were made about the 21 competitors such as "this group has been the most talented that we have taped for our shows, you are all 9's and 10's". The judges even commented "How are we suppose to choose from these people, they could all be winners?" |

Stephanie, Beverly and Kevin, doing the "Exit" off stage after her performance. |
This is all of us after the shows were finished and we had been there for hours and hours, but still had the heart to join in harmony and sing "We Are Family". We did it for fun, and from the true emotions we all shared. It went so well, that producers requested that we do a "re-take" so it could be recorded. We sang a bit and passed the Mics around to make sure any that wanted to join in could gladly do so.... there was no "gimme, gimme".... we all shared and that made one glorious sound. |

Stephanie and Kevin in the lobby of King Feature Productions during one of the breaks between tapings of the shows. There were 5 shows filmed in one day. All you could see were Vocalist, costumes hanging anywhere you could find a place, make-up kits, and "bottled water." |

Stephanie and James This is a rare opportunity to say that two people from totally different ends of America got along right from the start. James lives in CA and Stephanie in NY. It's true that "music" forms a "bond" between people that is recognized by others. I know all of you understand what I am describing... one vocalist to another, you can not deny that we all "clicked" remarkably well. Almost forgetting that we had just known one another a little over 24 hours, all of us had a difficult time saying "goodbye". |

Stephanie and Trina were the first two contestants to meet. Both arrived on Thursday in hopes of getting in some rest and practice before everyone else started to arrive on Friday. These two quickly became friends and before you knew it everyone began to blend together as they arrived. There were no strangers by the end of Friday night. |
|
Stephanie and Maria in the lobby of the Production Studio. These two were contestants in the fourth show. Maria decided on the ride over to the show that she wanted to "change" her song. Everyone agreed that she should "go with her heart" and sing what she felt instead of what was rehearsed on Friday night for the line up of the show. Maria took the stage Saturday Night without any practice of "I'm Every Woman" and was announced as the winner. As you can see, there were "no losers". Friends and memories were made, and a lifetime of stories can be told from this weekend. |
