If you have students who feel anxious about formal exams or prefer more casual and fun lessons, and you would love a clear and ready-made progression pathway for developing techniques and creative skills, ‘The Artist’s Voice’ might be a perfect fit! This programme progresses through 10 CPD-accredited booklets, designed to take students on a journey of confidence, joy, and self-discovery in their music. We would love to collaborate with you!

WHAT STUDENT WOULD THESE BOOKS BE IDEAL FOR?

  • Adult from beginner upwards
  • Teens around age 12+
  • Those anxious or unsure about formal exams
  • Those who enjoy working on content and projects with their teacher
  • Those seeking more relaxed, casual-style lessons, with a visible progression pathway

Each booklet contains exercises, projects, discussions, tasks, and activities.

There is no sheet music or requirement to read music.

Past alumni have progressed from embarking as a complete beginner; to recording albums, touring, and singing professionally.

"I am two lessons in... and I absolutely love experimenting with all of this cool stuff. It's great to find out why we're doing these exercises rather than just doing them. Learning to sing properly is something I wanted to do for ages so I'm really glad I went for it... Just wish I'd not put it off for so long!"

The Artist's Voice (module 10)
"I have since invested in a home studio where I spend hours creating and fueling my creativity. What Laura gave me was priceless: the first steps into a journey of self-discovery and development. I have changed so much as a singer, as an artist, and as a person!"

The Artist's Voice (module 10)
"I find the Singers Club material very useful. My students also find it interesting and helpful in exploring new vocal techniques. It is easy to follow and insert into a thirty minute lesson. The quiz/assessment feature is very-useful for finding out what your student has remembered"

The Voice as An Instrument (module 1)
"I had written quite a few songs before starting the songwriting course so was not sure if it would be useful. How wrong can you be? Learning to recognise song structure and stepping out of my comfort zone really helped me create totally new material. I'm now recording already!"
Ginette
Songwriting(module 7)
"I'm so excited to present these to my students and love what Laura has created here"

FAQ'S

The primary ambition is to embark on a journey with both teachers and students to build confidence, creativity, and safe vocal function, and to introduce new material, broadening students’ horizons. Completion of each module marks a celebratory milestone in the student’s learning. By the final module, they will have covered a wide range of learning areas.

The aim is for a student to realise their unique musical preferences, strengths, and appreciation of their voice and love of music, letting go of anxiety, worries or concerns. The work is not rushed because for adults, this is not a quick area of personal development, but one cultivated over time on a deeper level. The course and the vocal coach act as a supportive guide to the student in their quest to understand themselves, and the music they love. Each module covers eight to ten hours of training.

(1) The Voice as an Instrument, (2) Musicality, (3) Sculpting Sound, (4) Colours of the Voice, (5) Vocal Effects, (6) Genre Spotlight, (7) Songwriting, (8) Show Application, (9) Empowered Singer,  (10) The Artist’s Voice.

Module 10 is only eligible on the completion of modules 1-9.

One module = 8 hours of training = 8 CPD points* (certified teachers*)

Most of my students complete a module per term, with some progressing a little faster or slower depending on the module. On average, students spend around 3 months on the projects, exploration, developing skills, and practice of each module before taking the end-of-module assessment.

During this time, I aim to give students the tools to develop their craft. The focus is on growth and music enjoyment, over speed or perfect scores.

Module work can fit well around shows, or other music projects throughout the year.

Apart from just a few specific projects, there is scope for teachers and students to choose any song for their module tasks.

Adult students have often accumulated a diverse range of music over their lifetime to contribute to lessons. Teenage students also bring in fantastic contemporary music choices. At the same time, most students appreciate the chance to explore different music genres. They may be surprised at how much they enjoy a style not previously considered. Throughout the course, students are offered the opportunity to use their own choice of pieces alongside selections recommended by their coach, making for a team effort and potentially unlimited repertoire.

I recommend using the lesson material in the order you feel best serves the student’s needs and progress. However, I do follow the order when it comes to assessment quizzes. If a student has covered a topic previously, ticking it off when we get to that assessment can serve as a review or reflection. Module 10 can only be taken on the completion of the prior 9 modules.

I encourage students to review the entire booklet, including the quiz, to gain an overview and start working on the projects. We will then discuss key elements in class and establish the module’s goals to that the student is clear on their goals, and focus for the module

Can a student ‘FAIL’?

The purpose of the assessment at the end is to provide students with the floor space to express themselves and share what they have learned, articulating structures in their own words. If a student is clearly struggling with a certain topic, then I make a note and we work together a little longer before coming back to the quiz. In some instances, we might move to a different module and then come back with a further enhanced skillset.

Although there is a pass/fail criteria, our milestone concept is one built more on celebrating individual growth and building confidence through the course.

Yes, students can order their workbooks directly to use with their teacher, coaches can order a term box of materials to have in-stock, or a combination of both.

If you are teacher, you can request a private link for your students to order their books.

Anyone is welcome to use the books as a resource and, if you are a singing teacher, why not take our free training seminar?

Passing the training means you become a certified and listed singers club teacher. Students who complete the programme with you will then be eligible for their official CPD points.

The review is a straightforward 2 hour training online. Please email [email protected] for information.

Branded Certificates

Once training is complete, you will be in charge of issuing certificates to students for passing each module criteria (in-house).
