A Singing Club Where Children Can Sing, Play, Perform, Create and Grow in Confidence

Children celebrating together at The Singers Club Kids Club

We believe every child should have the opportunity to discover what their voice can do.

That is why we have launched TSC Junior, a fun, welcoming school singing club that brings musical skills, confidence and joy to primary schools.

Our clubs give children a chance to step away from the academic side of the school week, spend time making music together and discover the confidence that can come from singing and performing with others.

And, of course, they get to sing some brilliant songs along the way!

More than just a school choir

A traditional school choir can be wonderful, but The Singers Club is designed to offer something a little different.

Our sessions combine singing, musical games, movement, performance skills and confidence-building activities, with children learning a mixture of traditional songs, musical theatre, popular music and age-appropriate contemporary songs.

Children don’t need to be experienced singers, they don’t need to read music, and they don’t need to audition. They simply need to come along, have a go and enjoy making music with other children.

Developing musical skills through fun

Every session is carefully designed to help children develop their musical understanding without it feeling like another classroom lesson. Children may explore:

  • Pitch and melody
  • Rhythm and pulse
  • Musical dynamics
  • Listening skills
  • Singing together
  • Harmony and parts
  • Musical expression
  • Memory and musical recall
  • Performance skills
  • Creative musical games
  • Confidence using their voice
  • Working as part of an ensemble

Warm-ups and musical games help children become comfortable using their voices, while activities gradually introduce musical concepts through practical, enjoyable and tactile experiences.

This fits naturally alongside the aims of music education in England, which encourage children to sing, perform, listen, compose and develop confidence and creativity. (GOV.UK)

A mental reset in the day

We know how full the school week can be. The Singers Club gives children an opportunity to switch off from academic work and switch on to creativity.

There is no test at the end, no grades, and no pressure to be the best singer in the room.

Instead, children are encouraged to join in, try something new, work together and gradually become more comfortable expressing themselves.

For some children, that might mean singing confidently in front of everyone for the first time. For another child, it might simply mean joining in when they usually hang back. Those small moments can be hugely valuable.

Building confidence, one song at a time

Singing is a particularly powerful way of developing confidence because children are using their own voice as their instrument. Our sessions encourage children to:

  • Have a go.
  • Be heard.
  • Work together.
  • Celebrate each other.
  • Try something new.

Children may also have opportunities to take part in small performance activities, group challenges and informal sharing, helping them become more comfortable with performing without making the club feel like an audition or competition.

The Department for Education’s music guidance highlights the role of music in developing pupils’ self-confidence, creativity and sense of achievement, while current enrichment guidance emphasises skills such as teamwork, communication, belonging and wellbeing. (GOV.UK)

From traditional songs to modern pop

We want children to experience the breadth of singing. Depending on the age group and school, sessions can include a mixture of:

  • 🎵 Traditional songs
  • 🎭 Musical theatre
  • 🎤 Modern pop
  • 🌎 Songs from different cultures and traditions
  • 🎶 Fun singing games and musical challenges
  • ✨ Songs chosen to encourage confidence and participation

This gives children the chance to discover that there isn’t just one type of music or one way of being a singer.

The Singers Club Junior workbook, certificate and stickers ready for a session

A school singing club that comes to you

The Singers Club is designed to be completely self-contained. Your school doesn’t need to provide a collection of resources or create a new programme from scratch.

Our trained singing teacher arrives with everything needed to run the school singing club, including:

  • The Singers Club banner
  • Session resources
  • Musical activities
  • Children’s stickers
  • Certificates
  • Printable worksheets and take-home activities
  • A structured programme that develops over time

The teacher leads the session from start to finish, allowing the school to offer a specialist musical enrichment activity without adding another programme to staff workload.

Take the music home

We don’t want the learning to stop when the session finishes. Children can receive printable worksheets and activities to take home, and share with parents, helping them revisit musical ideas and continue exploring between sessions.

For children who discover that they really love singing, the club can also become a starting point for further musical development, whether that means school performances, private singing lessons, choirs, musical theatre or simply continuing to sing for enjoyment.

Celebrating every singing star

Every child who takes part is part of The Singers Club. We use stickers and certificates to celebrate participation, progress and achievement, helping children see that their musical development is something worth being proud of.

There is no requirement to be the loudest, highest or most naturally gifted singer. We celebrate children for having a go, supporting each other, developing their skills and finding their voice.

Could your school be the next Singers Club?

A school singing club is about much more than learning songs. It can give children opportunities to collaborate, listen, express themselves, perform and discover something they genuinely love.

We heavily endorse the national plan for music education to offer opportunities for children to sing, join vocal groups, perform and progress their musical interests. (GOV.UK)

And with current emphasis on enriching children’s experiences beyond the core curriculum, a well-structured singing club can become a valuable part of a school’s wider enrichment offer. (GOV.UK)
